An Introduction to our Kin Team - Rachel Beattie

Why is purpose important in business?

Purpose provides the why! It provides that shared belief that engages your team and your customers.  It provides a clarity of focus that allows our business to be innovative and to strive to exceed customers' expectationsBusinesses work in increasingly complex operating environments; they need to be agile yet at the same time they need to meet their compliance obligations. Purpose helps people to navigate change, builds resilience and establishes a sense of community that creates meaningful experiences in work.

What do you love about working with Kin?

Where to start!   The vision and values are truly part of the fabric of Kin.  Whether working with a client, a team member or our sister company Humankind the focus is on delighting people with the quality of your work, taking a human centred approach and looking at where we can add value.  Our offering is innovative, disruptive and takes the best from recruitment practices and provides that service to clients in a way that they truly receive value in every touch point they have with Kin.  Working with a group of smart, focused and kind people is fantastic.

Why are you passionate about working with Kin clients?

I love recruitment and I love working with companies to help them achieve their business strategy.  Working with a diverse range of clients, and providing tailored support, means that I can really deliver fantastic outcomes for them.   Our client's values often resonate with ours, and the ability to support organisations and connect talent with them gives me great satisfaction.

In your opinion, what’s the most important part of the recruitment process, and why?

Really understanding what success looks like for a person in a role.  The briefing process is the opportunity to both build an understanding of what the clients’ needs are but also to share with the client insights into the talent community they are looking to engage with.  This sets everyone up for success and helps guide each following step in the recruitment process.

What’s been a special moment (or a moment that matters) for you since starting at Kin, and why?

I love a challenge and being engaged by a leading New Zealand University to deliver a global search has been an outstanding opportunity.  The client's openness to innovation in how we approach the search and their willingness to closely partner has been fantastic.  But equally, seeing the level of collaboration in the Kin team, the proactive offerings of support to others and the genuine nature of this has really made me so thankful to be part of such an awesome team.
