We’ve had some incredible clients over the years, mighty kiwi businesses, some bigger, some smaller. Generally, when we first work with a business or leader, they come to us for one of three reasons:
- They don’t have the expertise to recruit themselves
- They’re time poor
- They love our price point
Like most good relationships, at the start it’s all about learning about one another and understanding how to build a successful partnership. Over time the trust grows and a deep understanding develops, so much so that it’s not uncommon for a client to say something like we need another Sam in our team, not Sam now but Sam two years ago when you first placed them with us. This conversation is shorthand for: you know us, you know our leaders, and you know who thrives in our environment. We love that.
Every time we support a client with recruitment, we aim to lift the capability of the leaders we’re working with. In a well-designed recruitment process, there are no losers. When done well, even shortlisted candidates who don’t get the role come away with their mana intact, a clear understanding of why they weren’t successful, and as importantly, still a fan of your brand.
Supporting leaders to be capable, confident and human in their hiring is what our team strives for. Over time, these leaders sometimes need us less; comfortable with their own ability to identify, attract and recruit epic team members themselves.
Some might say this is counter intuitive to growing our own business: why upskill our clients to do the job that we do for them?! Our ethos on this is simple; growing mighty businesses within Aotearoa uplifts and supports us all. In the esteemed words of Anne Isabella Thackery Ritchie give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
Thanks so all our clients past and present; we love that you’re striving to raise the bar when it comes to injecting humanity into a recruitment process.
