About the role
This is an opportunity to do meaningful work, supporting paramedics who serve our communities every day. Reporting to the Tumu Whakarae/Kairehita | Chief Executive/Registrar, you'll assist with processing of registrations and recertifications for paramedics across the motu, and provide vital administration support to our tīma | team.

This is a brand new graduate/entry-level role where you'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of tasks, learn about health regulation, and be supported to grow your career as part of our small tight-knit team.  Working in a new responsible authority means you'll have genuine input into how we do things. Your ideas to improve processes and create efficiencies will be welcomed and valued as we continue to develop and grow.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent role based in our Willeston Street office, with flexibility to attend to life’s challenges and needs when required.  The salary range is $55,000 to $65,000 per annum.

What you’ll do:
  • Assist in delivering responsive, professional frontline support for queries from paramedics, stakeholders, and the public
  • Deliver high-quality administrative support across the organisation, including organisation of hui, events, travel, and catering
  • Work closely with our Kairuruku Rēhitatanga | Registration Coordinator and He Kaitohutohu Ngaio | Professional Advisors to process registrations for paramedics, guiding applicants through registration, gathering information, and ensuring clear, timely communication throughout
  • Assist with the issuing of annual practising certificates and processes for continued professional development (CPD) and CPD audits
  • Contribute to Board meeting preparation including agendas, papers, and research
  • Support and enhance our practitioner database, website and digital systems, including testing, troubleshooting and contributing to projects
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with kaimahi, advisors, co-located partner regulatory authorities and external stakeholders
  • Actively engage with our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, building your own cultural capability and applying equity and tikanga in daily work
  • Live our organisational values of respect, trust, partnership, and integrity in all you do
About you
You have a genuine interest in the health sector paired with a natural curiosity and a love of learning.  You're someone who’ll thrive in a fast-paced professional environment and takes pride in doing things well.  You're comfortable following structured processes but equally, are resilient and adaptable when priorities shift. You also bring:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including strong proof reading and editing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer focussed approach
  • Strong administrative and IT skills including Microsoft Office 365 (experience with websites or databases is a bonus)
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage your time through peaks and troughs in your workload
  • A strong ability to take initiative, be proactive and follow through
  • Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
  • An understanding of cultural healthcare perspectives, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga and/or te reo Māori, or a willingness to grow your cultural capability
  • Experience in customer service and/or a health-related qualification would be an advantage.
