About the role The Commercial Sales and Leasing role is responsible for driving the successful sale and leasing of retail commercial properties. The role focuses on building strong relationships with landlords, tenants, investors and developers while identifying opportunities to maximise occupancy and return on investment for retail property assets.
This role will suit a highly motivated and resilient individual who is comfortable operating in a competitive, 100% commission-based environment with unlimited earning potential. Success requires proactive prospecting, including significant cold calling, strong relationship-building skills and the ability to consistently generate new business opportunities.
You’ll - Source and secure retail leasing opportunities for both new and existing tenants
- Negotiate commercial lease agreements and retail property sales
- Conduct property inspections, lease renewals and rent reviews
- Prepare and present leasing proposals and marketing material
- Monitor market trends, rental rates and competitor activity
- Support retail asset planning and strategic tenant mix decisions
- Ensure compliance with leasing policies, legal standards and building codes
- Collaborate with marketing and property management teams on campaigns and tenant fit-outs
- Maintain accurate records within property and leasing CRM systems
- Represent the business professionally with clients and at industry meetings or events when required
About you You are a self-driven and commercially minded individual who enjoys building strong professional relationships and delivering results in a performance-focused environment.
You’ll likely bring:
- Five years’ experience in a sales role, ideally in business-to-business sales or working with government clients
- Confidence in client interactions and property presentations
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- A proven track record of closing leasing deals and achieving sales targets
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail
- A results-driven mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
It would also be advantageous if you have:
- A Real Estate Agent’s Licence under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008, or the willingness to obtain one
- Experience within property management, development or real estate
- Tertiary qualifications in property, business, law or finance, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of property law, commercial leasing, compliance, financing and market dynamics
- An understanding of the local commercial property market and stakeholder environment
