About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer on a part-time basis (32 hours per week) to join our Finance and Admin team to support the delivery of payroll services across our growing business.
You’ll manage end-to-end payroll processing, including preparation, reconciliation, and compliance, while continuously improving our payroll systems and processes.
Collaborating closely with our Head of Finance, Human Resources Manager, and Administration teams across our wider business, you’ll maintain accuracy, and provide training and guidance on payroll-related matters.
This vital position is located at our head office in Lower Hutt, and there will be some travel across the lower north island to visit teams in our Villages / Care homes to really get our payroll processes and key relationships humming.
What you’ll do - Process fortnightly payrolls for the villages, care homes and head office staff accurately and on- time
- Process automated time sheets lodged in Humanforce Rostering, Time & Attendance system
- Prepare and reconcile, KiwiSaver, ACC, leave, overtime, and deductions
- Maintain accurate employee records in the MYOB payroll systems
- Conduct payroll reconciliations and provide reports for business leaders
- Respond to payroll queries
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and company policies
- Support system testing, data audits, and payroll improvement projects
- Prioritise health, safety, and wellbeing in all aspects of your work
What you’ll bring
You will be a seasoned payroll professional who can hit the ground running within our small team.
We also need you to have:-
- 3+ years’ payroll experience and a strong proficiency with cloud- based software (including 1+ year with MYOB preferred)
- A strong understanding of payroll legislation and reporting requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear, open communication skills and the ability to form really effective working relationships with our wider teams
- The ability to manage deadlines while maintaining quality and compliance
