About the role Te Kaunihera Manapou | Paramedic Council is on a hīkoi | journey to explore the possibility of paramedics in Aotearoa New Zealand gaining prescribing authority. This work forms part of a wider effort to improve the health outcomes of New Zealanders and support a modern, responsive health system.
The Council is responsible for leading consultation and operational planning for this work. If prescribing authority is approved, the project will progress to finalising training design, consulting on education requirements and scope of practice, and accrediting education providers.
We are seeking a Kairuruku Hōtaka | Project Coordinator for an 18-month fixed-term role to support and coordinate this important programme of work. This role will be across all aspects of the project, coordinating and supporting the work of the Council and project team.
As this project is still being shaped, this role suits someone comfortable working with limited structure, who can take initiative, build processes, and keep work moving in a complex environment.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) 18 month fixed term contract role based in our Willeston Street office, with flexibility to attend to life’s challenges and needs when required. The salary range is $70,000 to $85,000 per annum.
What you’ll do: - Develop and maintain project and workstream timelines
- Track actions, risks, and deliverables and proactively share updates with the wider team
- Arrange stakeholder hui and workshops, prepare agendas, and take minutes
- Draft, edit and proofread communication and consultation materials
- Support research and collate feedback from consultations and surveys
- Collate and prepare information to support the board to make effective decisions
- Act as the central point of contact for project enquiries
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the health and regulatory system
- Actively engage with our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, building your own cultural capability and applying equity and tikanga in daily work
- Live our organisational values of respect, trust, partnership, and integrity in all you do
About you You are someone who brings professionalism, takes action and follows through. You’re open to feedback, adaptable in your approach, and see yourself as a collaborative and reliable support to the wider team. You will also be resilient and comfortable working within a fast-paced, complex and evolving programme of work.
You bring:
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience supporting projects involving multiple stakeholders
- Clear, thoughtful written and interpersonal communication skills
- Confidence engaging with diverse stakeholders and building respectful relationships
- Integrity and sound judgement when managing confidential information
- Excellent administrative and IT skills, including Microsoft Office and project tools
- An understanding of cultural perspectives in healthcare and familiarity with relevant legislation (including the HPCA Act and medicines legislation), or willingness to learn
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and competence in te reo Māori and tikanga Māori, or a willingness to learn
- An understanding of government processes and prescribing models is an advantage, but not essential
