People & Culture Advisor

Listed 10 days ago

About the role
In this newly created People & Culture role, you’ll take ownership of the full employee lifecycle. From recruitment and onboarding to performance, wellbeing, ER and engagement, you’ll deliver operational HR support, advise and support leaders, and embed people processes that align with Waterford Security’s values and strategic goals.

Reporting to our Head of Support Services, you’ll play a central role in making sure our people feel supported, connected, and recognised. Alongside the day-to-day, you’ll take the lead on key projects including implementing a new HRIS, refreshing our wellbeing and recognition programmes, and supporting leadership capability across the business.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a sole-charge role to make their own, and who wants to grow with the business.  You’ll be supported in your professional development and will have access to experienced external HR consultants for support when needed.

About you
You’re confident and proactive and thrive in a nimble, fast moving environment.  A skilled communicator and natural relationship builder with a down-to-earth approach, you build trust easily and are comfortable influencing and coaching leaders.  You’re someone who brings energy to your work and rolls up your sleeves to get things done. You’ll have an innate ability to keep your finger on the pulse of people and culture in the organisation, and can provide solid practical advice to our leadership team.  You will also ideally bring:
  • At least three years’ experience in a generalist advisory role
  • Strong understanding of NZ employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience in recruitment and onboarding, performance management, employment relations and policy development
  • Experience with HRIS implementation would be an advantage
