Listed 12 days ago

About Us

At Wellington Hospitals Foundation, we’re on an exciting journey of transformation. Building on the incredible success of our world-class Children’s Hospital Te Wao Nui, we’re on a mission to amplify long-term sustainable fundraising to better support great healthcare across the region. A much-loved brand in the community, we’re the official charity for Health NZ supporting Wellington’s public hospitals including Hutt, Keneperu, Wellington Regional and Children’s Hospitals.

About the Opportunity

As the Philanthropy and Legacy Giving Manager, you’ll be responsible for Major Gifts and Bequests (Gifts in Will) – two areas we see huge potential to make a difference for healthcare in our region. This is an exciting new role for the Foundation. You’ll be happy to roll up sleeves, and will play a critical role helping to develop these programmes and associated donor engagement and stewardship efforts. Ideally you’ll have practical fundraising experience in one or both of these areas, understand the crossover between the two, be a natural relationship builder, be comfortable in any room, and know what it takes to inspire big gifts.

It is an exciting time to come on board with the Foundation as we build on 20 years of impact and enter a new phase of development and growth to support great healthcare.  You’ll work alongside a new dynamic and growth focussed CEO as well as a deeply knowledgeable Head of Fundraising who are both excited by innovation and experimentation.

We are offering $120-140k pro-rated to 0.8 FTE for this position depending on level of experience and fit against the key competencies of the role.

We’re seeking candidates who:
  • are energised by innovation, change and opportunity
  • will seek out the opportunities and turn them into exciting prospects
  • are dynamic, motivated and love a challenge
  • can inspire a team around them
  • are comfortable using (and know how to get the best out of) fundraising technology platforms
  • can straddle both strategy and execution
  • has a demonstrated history of deep fundraising expertise
  • always put the donor at the heart of their work.
