About us Waterford Security is a family-owned and 100% New Zealand-owned business. Our clients include government organisations, banks, hospitals, large recreational facilities like sport stadiums, and owners of multi-storey commercial and residential buildings.
With offices in Auckland, Wellington, and Palmerston North, we install, maintain, manage and repair electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV and alarms, providing service across the whole of New Zealand.

About the role Reporting to the General Manager Sales, this role will actively seek out opportunities to create relationships with new clients, primarily in the Palmerston North region. Day to day, you will:
- Actively seek out opportunities to grow our client base
- Research potential new clients and make initial contact to start a conversation
- Engage with new clients to promote security solutions and services
- Connect with and support existing clients from time to time
- Prepare quotes and estimates for clients based on their project needs
- Collaborate with the sales, operations and technical teams to ensure client requirements are being met
- Work closely with the General Manager Sales to deliver key KPIs and goals
About you You will already have proven success in sales and you’ll be results-orientated with a drive to succeed. You’re someone who thrives on building new relationships and creating opportunities. Ideally, you’ll have exposure to the security industry and understand some of our clients' needs. However we are also open to candidates from similar technical sales backgrounds. You will also bring:
- Drive and energy towards finding new business opportunities
- A natural resilience with an ambitious and self-motivated approach
- Exceptional communication skills
- Commercial nous and an ability to negotiate
- An innate ability to build strong relationships and trust with clients
- A knack for understanding technical requirements and tailoring solutions to meet client needs

- A collaborative, outcome focused, approach to teamwork
You’ll also hold a clean, full drivers' licence, and be able to gain and maintain a Police clearance, as well as a Certificate of Approval.
