About Us PaySauce has been cooking up awesome payroll since 2015. We started off small but have been growing fast - we’ve moved from start up to scale up and have more and more customers learning to love the Sauce! With our clever platform and sharp eye for security, compliance and ease of use, we make it easy for employers to manage the human side of business – from contracts to digital timesheets, payroll, banking and filing.
We love payroll and people, and we’re revolutionising the way they are looked after: we really care about helping both employers and employees by making the tough things simple and letting them focus on the things that matter. Our goal? Effortless yet flexible. Clever solutions that are intuitive to use and make payroll a beautiful experience.
About the Role We’re on the lookout for our very first Australian hire - a milestone moment for us! We're excited to welcome a Product Owner to be the driving force behind our Australian payroll product development. Reporting to our Head of Product, you’ll be our in-house expert on Australian payroll regulations and compliance, ensuring our solutions are spot-on for local requirements.
You’ll be working directly with our product development team to turn complex payroll concepts into clear, actionable features and workflows.
You’ll act as the voice of our Australian customers, gathering insights and feedback to advocate for their needs across the business.
About the Team You'll join a small and dynamic cross-functional product development team focused on delivering exceptional Australian payroll solutions. While this is currently our first Australian based role, you won’t be on your own - you’ll be deeply connected with our wider team across the ditch in New Zealand. As the AU Product Owner, you'll work closely with developers, designers, and QA engineers in an agile environment, serving as the vital bridge between product vision and technical delivery.
Your day-to-day involves collaborating with the Head of Product to shape priorities,, engaging directly with development teams on sprint planning and backlog refinement, and liaising with stakeholders across marketing, sales, and customer experience. Your work won’t just influence the product, it will play a big part in shaping our presence and growth in Australia.
About You You know your stuff as you’ve spent the past few years working in or around Australian payroll, so you have a solid understanding of local rules, processes, and pain points. You have hands-on experience working in or with a payroll software, ideally within a fast-paced Agile SaaS development environment. You're highly self-motivated and proactive, always looking for ways to contribute, collaborate and move projects forward.
You're ready to be both a subject matter expert and a team player, helping to shape our Australian product strategy.. You’re customer centric and understand that great products come from truly understanding user needs and translating them into practical solutions.
You don’t need to worry if you don’t have all the boxes ticked, there will be plenty of support available within our existing team, but it is important that you’re experienced enough to be independent and own the key responsibilities once you’re familiar with how we operate.
Why You’ll love working at PaySauce Life is good here with the PayForce. We take care of each other as much as we do our customers: we’re built on being empathetic, kind, and people first.
We live by our values - they aren’t just words on a page to us, they are what we live and breathe. We’re straight up and take our mission seriously, but we have fun along the way!
We’re committed to supporting your development and ensuring you feel fulfilled and happy at work. We’re dedicated to ensuring everyone feels valued and has a contribution to make to PaySauce’s (very bright) future.
This role is fully remote, at least for now so you can ditch the formal office wear. You’ll also get an invitation to join our employee share scheme. And most importantly, you’ll have an awesome supportive crew around you in a company that’s really going places.
