HFC Group is a well-regarded structural and civil engineering consultancy with a team of around 40 professionals across three office locations in New Zealand. We pride ourselves on delivering technically robust, practical, and enduring engineering solutions, while fostering a collaborative and supportive culture.

About the role …
  • Oversee daily operations across all three offices, ensuring the smooth delivery of internal business services.
  • Provide clarity, development and coaching for the Operations and Business Support team member, along with coverage during leave
  • Lead the HR function, including recruitment, onboarding and performance & remuneration reviews, ensuring all HFC staff have access to the support and professional development they need to perform at their best.
  • Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting, utilising and enhancing the available technology and tools
  • Maintain policies, procedures and systems covering H&S, finance, IT, compliance and daily operations.
  • Lead board reporting, action tracking and preparation of key documents and insights.
 About you …
  • Proven experience as a Practice, Business or Operations Manager, ideally where you have supported organisational change, or business improvements
  • Breadth of knowledge in HR systems and methodology, with the ability to build trusted relationships and lead with influence,
  • Confident and intuitive communicator, able to connect with a range of people
  • Able to juggle changing priorities across business units while ensuring internal projects maintain momentum
  • Proactive with a sense of urgency, you thrive in a fast-paced environment, yet ensure that quality always comes first.
  • Financial literate and IT savvy, with a solid grasp of core business metrics and operational performance
  • Experience within engineering, architecture or a technical consultancy is advantageous
