Who are we?
Spiral are a software development company, focussed on improving health outcomes by reimagining study management tools and services.

We work smarter not longer. The team and our software platform are adaptable, not rigid; and we like to keep things simple.

Right now we're working on global research projects for hospitals and research facilities who are working to solve some of the world's largest health Issues, such Covid 19, Pneumonia, Staphylococcus Aureus, Type 1 Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease.

The opportunity:
This is a varied and hands-on role as part of a small, dedicated team. You’ll initially get to know our software, our team and customers through trouble shooting, testing and providing technical support. You’ll be guided to learn our platform, and the bespoke builds of our software that have been tailored specifically for each of the projects and clients we work with.

Once you’re up to speed, you’ll work closely with our Project Managers on software supporting one of our largest and most complex clinical trials. Day to day you’ll support them to manage sprints and releases and contribute to scoping, project planning, delivery and reporting. You’ll work with clients to deeply understand their requirements, create technical wireframes and document features. You’ll also work with our Testers and Developers to help us maintain quality assurance, data integrity and consistency across our platform. You’ll triage and manage bugs and change requests, test and troubleshoot issues, and conduct regular exploratory testing.

Working fully remotely, you will be comfortable working autonomously for long periods of time and in an agile fashion, keeping connected with the wider team through Slack, Zoom and daily stand ups.

About you:
By nature you’re a curious life-long learner who is fascinated by the way things work and are always seeking ways to make things better. You’ll have a passion for working on purpose led and impactful projects, with perhaps a bit of “science geek” in you too.

You’re a motivated and self-managing person who is friendly and thoughtful, persevering, reliable, trustworthy and punctual. We’re a small team, so there are no egos here.
Ideally, you will have experience managing small projects and are seeking an opportunity to develop into managing large and complex projects.
In your recent roles, you'll have developed excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills, fantastic customer focus, and the capacity to thrive under pressure.

Being a small and agile tech team our skills are broad, so we would love you to have some experience with testing, even if just a little as well as some QA experience too.

We're looking for someone with:
  • Experience or knowledge of project management/coordination and/or software testing In an Agile environment
  • Capacity and willingness to provide exceptional support to our senior project team and customers
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including writing technical and compliance documentation and reports
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • A focussed, process-orientated, persistent and methodical approach
  • Fantastic attention to detail
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to put in the mahi!
Knowledge of medical research or the health sector would be an advantage, as is knowledge of Jira, Zephyr or similar test management tools.

What it’s like here
The work we do supporting medical researchers has the potential to improve the health and well-being of people around the world. Every member of our team contributes to the completion and success of every study we work on.
