About the Opportunity We are seeking a passionate and strategic Head of Fundraising and Partnerships to join our mission. This is more than just a leadership role – it's an opportunity to create meaningful change in the lives of people affected by cancer across our communities through innovative and bold fundraising activity. Under the leadership of a dynamic and motivated CEO, we’re ready for a step change in how we fundraise.
You will re-establish and lead a dedicated and passionate team in developing sustainable funding streams that enable us to be there for more people when they need us most. Working collaboratively across the team, regional divisions and Head Office: -
You will be: - Crafting and implementing fundraising strategies that fuel our mission.
- Building meaningful relationships with corporate partners and major donors.
- Leading signature events like Relay for Life and Daffodil Day and constantly reviewing their effectiveness.
- Mentoring and developing a high-performing team.
- Using data and insights to ensure our campaigns and activity are accurately targeted for maximum effectiveness.
- Driving innovation in our fundraising approaches across the entire fundraising function.
- Lifting the Cancer Society Wellington brand and profile by being highly visible and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, partners and supporters.
What you will bring to this role As well as being passionate about our mahi and aligned to our guiding principles, you will be a senior leader with a demonstrated track record of success in fundraising and broad networks across the corporate and philanthropic sector. Your exceptional people and communication skills inspire, connect and achieve great outcomes.
You will need - A strategic mindset combined with a heart for community service
- Senior fundraising experience (7+ years)
- A love of analysing and interpreting insights and research to make data informed fundraising decisions.
- Strong relationship-building abilities and networking skills
- Understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles
- Leadership experience in revenue generation
- Team leadership experience and the ability to nurture their growth and drive performance
- Excellence in communication and stakeholder engagement
- Genuine enthusiasm, energy and excitement to help us level up
