Assets and Facilities Coordinator

About the role
As our Facilities, Assets and Sustainability Coordinator you’ll be responsible for
managing the day-to-day building maintenance and operational equipment
maintenance work across 5 iconic Wellington venues (i.e. The Michael Fowler Centre, Opera House, TSB Arena, Shed 6 and St James Theatre).

Supporting a small, but highly experienced Facilities and Assets team you’ll work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (including Wellington City Council, our current Facilities Management provider, contractors and suppliers).

You’ll also support sustainability focussed initiatives across the organisation to help minimise our environmental footprint.

This is a full-time permanent position with hours to be worked approximately between 7AM – 4PM, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing scheduled maintenance, and reactive repairs across our venues portfolio and operational equipment.
  • Ensuring all systems, documentation and bookings are up to date and accurate.
  • Oversight of contractors’ schedules, access, knowledge, and health and safety.
  • Fostering positive, collaborative relationships with our team, clients, contractors and all stakeholders.
About you

You enjoy building relationships and find it easy to engage with a wide range of
stakeholders, including relating well to busy tradespeople.

You’ll also bring:
  • Previous experience working within facilities management or logistics and have a sound knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • Can-do attitude, with the ability to adapt to urgent and changing priorities.
  • Confidence fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communicating effectively through tricky situations and challenges.
  • You care about what you do, and the quality of your work. You pride yourself on your organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong writing and report preparation skills.
  • A focus on continuous improvement.
  • A thorough understanding of building systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements would be a significant benefit.
  • Experience using EBMS (Event Business Management System) would also be a benefit!
