Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG) is a Trust dedicated to providing support and advocacy across Aotearoa to grandparents who are raising their grandchildren on a full-time basis. Our vision is raising resilient and healthy tamariki and rangatahi (children and youth) by empowering grandparent and whānau care families.

About the role
  
Have you been looking for that rare role that offers challenge and reward in equal measure, and maximises your diverse skills and experience?  As CEO of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG), you’ll be inspired by the importance and impact of our mahi. You'll bring your exceptional strategic leadership and operational management skills to take our organisation to the next stage. You'll be experienced at implementing strategy to drive the growth and development of the organisation, as we passionately strive to improve the lives and well-being of both Grandparents and their grandchildren.
  
Areas of focus
  • Responsible for the implementation, measurement and reporting of our strategic priorities
  • Advocating for the rights and well-being of the community we serve
  • Developing diversified and sustainable funding opportunities
  • Championing GRG, representing and promoting the organisation across Aotearoa
  • Upholding our kaupapa, and leading by example in the acknowledgement and respect for the cultural diversity of communities across Aotearoa
  • Building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, not-for-profits, local and central government organisations, Government, funders, and the media
  • Creating positive employee engagement through effective leadership, continuous feedback and identifying areas for training to encourage personal and professional development
About you

  • Knowledge and respect for the Treaty of Waitangi and Te ao Māori and the ability to lead others in its practical, day to day application as we continue our journey together
  • An outstanding communicator with high EQ, capable of navigating complex relationships and working collaboratively to influence others
  • An innovative and creative thinker who is able to adapt to the changing needs of the sector, our members and the community we serve
  • A deep understanding of the not-for-profit sector either through previous roles you’ve held or adjacent mahi
