Precision Group are a Wellington founded trade solutions group who provide expertise across the areas of plumbing, gas-fitting, roofing, drainage, electrical, glazing, asbestos and construction.  We work with a range of clients large and small and have well established teams across the Wellington region as well as growing teams in Nelson and Christchurch. 
  
2020 was a significant year of growth for us and we are now a team of 75 permanent tradespeople and a workforce of contractors. This year we are focusing on consolidating that growth and putting in place great foundational people practices to ensure we can engage and retain good people and enable them to do great work.
  
We are a close-knit crew who support one another.  We understand the balance between work and home responsibilities and have an ethos that family comes first.  We look after our people and offer career progression and reward to our high performers.
  
About the Role:
  
We’re on the hunt for our first ‘in house’ People & Culture Manager.  You'll be joining a business that has grown organically and will work closely with our two progressive founding Directors to shape the culture.
  
You will be responsible for hiring, onboarding, developing performance and remuneration review systems, policies, workplace health and safety systems (a robust system is in place), change management and employee relations.
  
As a small business, we all wear many hats so we're looking for someone who is comfortable being involved at both strategic and operational level.  We're looking for someone with:
 
  • sound general knowledge of all things HR related
  • the confidence and ability to deliver advice and support at all levels of the organisation
  • a passion for Health & Safety - it's paramount in our line of work
  • strong communication skills on all fronts 
  • problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution expertise
  • experience with performance appraisal systems to foster high performance 
  • the ability to provide high quality reporting
 
About you:
  
You’ll be a seasoned HR generalist with experience across the full employee lifecycle.  As this is a sole-charge role, we're looking for someone with the  experience and confidence to take ownership of the entire people and culture function.
  
With a low ego, no job will be beneath you.  You'll pitch in and help ‘build the plane as we fly it’, managing day to day HR operations while designing and implementing people programs to help Precision Group become even more successful through its people.
