About the role 
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Manager is responsible for the finance function for the business, as well as leading our small finance team. This role is broad and varied, and will encompass both high level financial responsibilities, along with detailed day to day tasks. In this role you will be responsible for: 
  • Overseeing our financial processes and policies, looking for efficiencies where possible 
  • Leading and developing the finance team 
  • Providing sound advice to the Managing Director and wider business on financial matters 
  • Compiling budgets and forecasts 
  • Completing monthly and ad hoc reporting  
  • Managing debtors and creditors 
  • Reconciliations of bank accounts, AR, and AP 
  • Managing the payroll function 
  • Completing project-based invoicing 
  • Completing tax obligations accurately and meeting deadlines 
About you 
You will be a Finance Manager who is passionate about your trade. You will have a sound understanding of end to end financial management and want to be involved in shaping our business. You’ll be a natural leader and be able to proactively look for ways to add value, and help the business understand the story behind the numbers. At the same time, you won’t be shy about rolling your sleeves up; we’re a small team which means that you’ll still need to be hands on with financial tasks. You will also bring: 
  • Previous experience in a senior level accounting or finance role 
  • A high level of confidentiality and ability to build trust 
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • An ability to guide and mentor others 
  • An understanding of payroll processes 
  • Experience with, and the ability to quickly learn new financial accounting software 
  • An analytical approach with strong problem-solving skills 
  • A collaborative, outcome focused approach
